Soft Focus Issues on the Canon EOS 7D

I'm trying not to get misty-eyed while I'm writing this.
My 7D is the love of my life and it breaks my heart to acknowledge so publicly that is has such a terrible problem. Everyone, my baby cannot focus properly.

It all started the day I opened the camera and went outside to photograph some flowers in my yard. They were beautiful, save for the fact that they were not completely in focus. Perhaps to the untrained eye they would be wonderful, but to myself and others it was a red flag. I dismissed it, because my own vision is far from perfect. A friend familiar with photography looked at the photos and agreed that they were not as clear as you would think, for a camera so nice. It saddens me deeply to realize that my 7D never could focus properly.

I have tried almost everything that both myself and other people have suggested, which was everything from cleaning everything from top to bottom (the camera and the lens I was using to test are both immaculate, and I verified with another body that the lens was not the issue), to micro adjusting the focus for every lens I own. I am in the process of doing that now with a calibration tool. I have even done the basic removal of both of the batteries and leaving them out for ten minutes, before putting them back in to have it confirmed that the issue has persisted.

I cannot continue to work while it is like this. On principle I will not take out of focus shots and fix them in photoshop. The results do not satisfy me, and I will not make someone pay for something I'm not proud of.

Do any of you have these issues? Am I alone in being so sad about it?

I admit that such sadness makes me feel isolated, despite the fact that I have read people having 2 or 3 7D bodies that all had the same problem. From what I've read, Canon has yet to acknowledge the issue and has told several people that there is nothing wrong with their camera.

I will try to reach out to Canon to find a solution. Hopefully they won't tell me there is nothing wrong, and hopefully this micro adjustment does the trick. I may otherwise burst into tears. Here's to hoping that it doesn't come down to that.
